Communications between Sitges and Barcelona are fast and easy. You can get to the centre of the Catalan capital in less than half an hour, following the highway along the coast. Getting there by train is easy as well: there are frequently trains that gets those who prefer this means of transport to the centre of Barcelona (we recommend to get off at the station of Paseo de Gracia, since it’s perfectly located to start any visit to the city). Whether if you are staying at our holiday apartments or at the hotel facing the sea, our personnel at the Beach & Golf Hotel front desk will be delighted to be able to help you about train timetables, doubts and any other questions when planning your visit to Barcelona.

The Tourist Bus is a good way to get a general idea of the city and the places more attractive to visit. For a reasonable price, this bus goes around the city giving explanations of

When visiting Barcelona, you will be surprised by the liveliness and vividness of the city, the courtesy of its inhabitants, its cosmopolitan atmosphere and the beauty of the areas and buildings. The architecture of Gaudí has a special impact on tourists, particularly for those who haven’t had the chance to admire his work previously. We have to point out the worldwide famous Holy Family Church (La Sagrada Familia), the Güell Park, and the Batlló and La Pedrera Houses, located at one of the most majestic avenues of the city:

Paseo de Gracia. Las Ramblas, another traditional and significant avenue of Barcelona - also called Ciudad Condal – offers lots of entertainment due to the atmosphere of sounds, colours and life that make indispensable to take a walk enjoying the life of the city.

The Gothic square of the city, with the Barcelona’s Cathedral as its standard, is another must for the visitors. Its streets, to which you can get access from Las Ramblas, represent the real and authentic historic city centre, transporting the walker to another time.

The quality and variety of the museums of Barcelona is just impressive. Among many others, the Picasso Museum, the Miró Foundation, the Tàpies Museum and the National Museum of Catalonia are particularly attractive. The very famous Liceo's Theatre, the Music Palace and the National Hall of Catalonia are authentic cultural symbols of the city, representing the best setting for those wishing to enjoy the best concerts and operas.

Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea
Barcelona, a city facing the Mediterranean Sea
Barcelona is a Mediterranean city facing the sea that lives in the daylight as much as at night. The Maremagnum and the Olympic Marina areas are two of the city nightspots where you can enjoy greater nightlife. There are any number of historic theatres and cinemas of Barcelona located at the pioneering Paral·lel Avenue, not so far away from the areas named above, though currently it is possible to find - as it is a cosmopolitan city - ludic and playful places the length and breadth of the city.

In the sports background, the Barcelona Football Club (colloquially known as Barça) is an international Barcelona symbol and a must for the visitors, although it is not the only football

team of the city (there can be watched football games between the Spanish Royal Sports Club (Real Club Deportivo Espanyol) and other football teams at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium).

The Barcelona F.C. museum is one of the most visited museums in Spain. Football is the king of sports; however, there are lots of international competitions taking place in Barcelona such as tennis competitions (the Earl Godó Trophy), the Catalonia Formula One Grand Prix, a Motorcycling Grand Prix, athletics, basketball, handball, swimming and sailing competitions, and a lot more besides that attract thousands of fans every year, for whom Sitges and the Beach & Golf Hotel or the Sitges Sunway Apartments are the best choices when deciding where to stay at.
